Sunrisers Hyderabad keep IPL playoff hopes alive by beating Rajasthan Royals

Sunrisers Hyderabad keep their IPL playoff hopes alive by securing a 32-run victory over Rajasthan Royals.

Sunrisers Hyderabad have ended their slump by beating Rajasthan Royals by 32 runs in their Indian Premier League clash.

Hyderabad took to the crease first with openers Shikhar Dhawan and Aaron Finch, who racked up a combined 37 before Dhawan was bowled out by Shane Watson for 33.

Dhawan, who hit seven boundaries, became Hyderabad's top scorer of the innings with Irfan Pathan behind him on an unbeaten 21 from as many deliveries.

Watson and Rajat Bhatia starred for Rajasthan in the bowling stakes by taking three wickets apiece as their opponents posted a total of 134-9 after 20 overs.

Rajasthan were dealt an early blow in their reply when Ajinkya Rahane was caught out by David Warner for a duck from a Bhuvneshwar Kumar delivery.

Karun Nair and Sanju Samson tried to steady the attack, but Nair fell after 12 runs, while Samson shortly followed after scoring 16 from as many balls.

The rest of the order failed to launch a comeback for Rajasthan as they were declared all out on 102 with five balls remaining.
