Sri Lanka build lead over Pakistan

Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene increase Sri Lanka's lead to 165 runs at the close of play on day three of the second Test against Pakistan.

Sri Lanka have extended their lead to 165 runs at the close of play on day three of the second Test against Pakistan, having reached 177-2 at stumps.

The home side resumed on 91-2 after tea with Kumar Sangakkara [54] and Mahela Jayawardene [49] at the crease, and their partnership remained unbeaten at the end of the day.

Sangakkara completed his half-century shortly before the close, while Jayawardene will have the chance to do the same tomorrow, as he finished on 49 not out.

Earlier in the day, Abdur Rehman claimed the wickets of both of Sri Lanka's opening batsmen.
