England set 303 to beat Sri Lanka in final one-day international

Tillakaratne Dilshan's century helps Sri Lanka set England a score of 303 to win the seventh and final ODI in Colombo.

A century from Tillakaratne Dilshan has helped Sri Lanka set England a target of 303 to win the seventh and final one-day international in Colombo.

Dilshan scored 101 off 124 balls during an explosive spell at the crease, while knocks of 28 and 33 from Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara respectively saw the hosts make a solid start at the top of the order.

Angelo Mathews could only make 20 before he was dismissed by Moeen Ali, but Dinesh Chandimal [55 not out] and Thisara Perera [54] punished the England bowlers soon after to give Sri Lanka a total of 302-6 off 50 overs.

Ali and Chris Jordan finished with two wickets apiece, while Harry Gurney also got in on the act when he bowled Jayawardene, who is playing his last international match on home soil.

The hosts sealed a series victory last week with a 90-run victory in Pallekele.
