Poor weather halts play between New Zealand, South Africa

Further heavy rain overnight ensures that the first Test between South Africa and New Zealand in Durban continues to be disrupted, with no play on day three.

Day three of the first Test meeting between South Africa and New Zealand was brought to an end before a ball could be bowled on Sunday due to poor weather.

The soggy nature of the Kingsmead field forced umpires to rule out any play in Durban, having also been restricted to just 22 overs on day two.

A decision was made to delay play until midday before inspecting the pitch further, but the ground was still too wet as the day went on and a third inspection showed no signs of improvement.

New Zealand remain on 15-2 in their reply to South Africa's first-innings tally of 263, with Ross Taylor and Kane Williamson both not out.
