South Africa's Vernon Philander has claimed that he would "definitely be a bit concerned" if he were an England bowler following the tourists' win in the first Test at The Oval.
England's attack were left frustrated by the Proteas' strong batting display as they recorded a comfortable victory in the series opener and Philander believes that their opponents will be worried ahead of next week's second Test.
The swing bowler said: "I can't really speak for the England attack but my thoughts would be on how I can get the guys out and trying to think of alternative plans."
Philander also praised South Africa's top order batsmen for providing the platform to complete their first ever Test triumph at The Oval.
"It was beautiful watching Graeme Smith and Hashim Amla start it off and Jacques Kallis stepping it up. It gave us the confidence to take the 10 wickets we needed in the second innings," he added.
South Africa face Worcestershire in a two-day match beginning on Friday in preparation for the second Test.
