Surrey have announced the dismissals of team director Chris Adams and head coach Ian Salisbury with immediate effect.

The County cricket club have claimed that executive director and former Surrey captain Alec Stewart and bowling coach Stuart Barnes will take temporary charge of team affairs.

Surrey CCC Chief Executive Richard Gould said on the club's official website: "Chris and Ian have worked really hard for the club and we appreciate their endeavours during the past five seasons. The club has decided it is now time to make a change in order to progress further."

Surrey's next match is against Yorkshire starting on June 21.
