New Derbyshire deal for Billy Godleman

Opening batsman Billy Godleman agrees a new two-year contract with Derbyshire.

Derbyshire have confirmed that Billy Godleman has signed a new contract with the club.

The 26-year-old batsman, who has committed himself to the Country Ground until 2017, scored 1,415 runs across all three formats of the game last term.

"I'm delighted to commit my future to Derbyshire. This summer has been the best year of my career and I'm pleased to have been able to repay the faith the club has shown in me," the opening batsman told the club's official website.

"I want to continue to improve and play a leading role both on and off the field as we push for success."

Godleman joined Derbyshire from Essex in 2013.
