Matthew Hoggard commits to Leicestershire with one-year extension

Hoggard signs contract extension

Leicestershire captain Matthew Hoggard has put pen to paper on a new one-year contract extension.

The 35-year-old, who moved to Grace Road in 2009 after being released from Yorkshire, has decided to continue his stay with the club but remains out of action with a hand injury.

"I am delighted to extend my contract with Leicestershire," said Hoggard. "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here and am looking forward to continuing at the club.

"We have some talented youngsters here and I am excited about the prospect of their development over the next two years. These are vibrant times at the club and I am pleased to be a part of what is happening at Grace Road."

Hoggard racked up 248 wickets in 67 Tests during his England career.
