Michael Clarke delighted by "outstanding" Australia

Australia captain Michael Clarke has praised his side's "outstanding" performance during their one-day international win over England in Melbourne.

The Aussies began the five-match series in emphatic style on Sunday as they came away with a six-wicket triumph against their old rivals.

"I thought our bowlers did really well on a wicket that was pretty good for batting, and then our batters were outstanding," Clarke is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

"Our one-day team is different to our Test team but I think these guys are certainly full of confidence."

The series continues on Friday when the sides meet in Brisbane.
