Zak Chappell signs new Leicestershire deal

Highly-rated Zak Chappell has committed his future to Leicestershire.

The 19-year-old made the headlines last year when he scored 96 runs from the number 10 position on his first-class debut against Derbyshire.

The English all-rounder has now signed on at Grace Road until the end of the 2017 campaign.

"Zak has worked extremely hard on his game over the winter and we are looking forward to seeing him continue his development over the next two seasons," elite performance director Andrew McDonald told the club's official website.

Chappell has represented Leicestershire in all three formats of the game.
