New Zealand lose Brendon McCullum after solid opening stand against Pakistan

Pakistan claim the wicket of Brendon McCullum as New Zealand reach lunch on 82-1 on day one of the second Test in Dubai.

New Zealand opener Brendon McCullum was the only casualty of the morning session as the Black Caps reached lunch on 82-1 against Pakistan on day one of the second Test in Dubai.

McCullum and Tom Latham made steady progress in the early overs of the day after New Zealand, who currently trail the series 1-0, won the toss and elected to bat.

Pakistan's bowlers were frustrated on the field, with Rahat Ali, Ehsan Adil, Zulfiqar Babar and Yasir Shah all struggling to find the breakthrough.

After New Zealand's opening pair struck up a combined 77 runs, Adil ended the partnership by dismissing McCullum, who hit 43 off 69 balls.

Latham (35 not out) and Kane Williamson (four not out) will return to the crease for the afternoon session.
