Brendon McCullum scored a century as New Zealand boast a six-run lead over India at the end of day three of the second Test in Wellington.
The hosts trailed their Indian counterparts by 100 runs at the beginning of the tea-time session.
However, an impressive effort from McCullum (114*) and Bradley-John Watling (52*) at the crease helped New Zealand recover from the deficit to leave them on 252 with five wickets remaining heading into day four.
The duo proved stubborn to shift after surviving a combined 445 balls from the tourists ahead of resuming their innings later on tonight.
