New Zealand have set Sri Lanka a score of 175 to win in the opening match of the super eight stage of the T20 World Cup.

Rob Nicol opened the batting and top scored with 58 runs to give the Kiwis a strong start.

Martin Guptill (38) and Ross Taylor (23) helped New Zealand build to a score of 174-7 at the end of their 20 overs.

Akila Dananjaya took two wickets for Sri Lanka with his first bowl of the tournament, and the youngster was also struck fiercely in the face during an eventful first innings.
