Trent Boult ruled out for remainder of England tour

A back injury will force Trent Boult to sit out the remainder of New Zealand's tour of England.

New Zealand bowler Trent Boult has been ruled out for the remainder of his side's England tour due to injury.

The 25-year-old will now head home for a further assessment, with the initial prognosis suggesting a stress fracture in his back.

Left-armer Boult, who has been in fine form for the Black Caps, was initially sent for a scan on Saturday.

The full extent of the injury will not be known until the New Zealand medical team analyse the scans.

England and New Zealand are currently tied at 1-1 in their ongoing one-day international series.
