Karanveer Singh takes four wickets to down Northern Knights

Kings XI Punjab qualify for the T20 Champions League semi-finals after beating Northern Knights by 120 runs, courtesy of Karanveer Singh's four-wicket haul.

Karanveer Singh took four wickets as Kings XI Punjab demolished Northern Knights by 120 runs to reach the semi-finals of the T20 Champions League with a game to spare.

Kings elected to bat after winning the toss and took a big step toward the last four after setting a formidable target of 215 after their overs.

The Knights came up short by some distance as their 11 batters could only muster 95 runs between them, with Singh dismissing four of those.

Opening pair of Virender Sehwag (52) and Manan Vohra (65) produced sizeable contributions in the scoring, both reaching half-centuries as Kings XI found themselves with 117 runs in the early stages.

David Miller then added an unbeaten 40 to the haul as George Bailey's side ultimately finished on 215-5 - their best total of the competition thus far.

Singh came to the fore when Northern Knights visited the crease, dismissing captain Daniel Flynn (12) and BJ Watling (8) early on to leave the visitors on 77 with just five batters left.

The right-hander then restricted Scott Kuggeleijn and Trent Boult to just one run apiece in the final stages to leave the Knights all out in an impressive win.
