India have moved to the brink of defeating Australia in the fourth Test match in Dharamsala after they bowled the tourists out for just 137.

The home side began the day on 248-6 and they were able to reach the end of their first innings with a lead of 32 after Ravindra Jadeja (63) helped his side to 332 all out.

It left Australia with work to do for the remainder of day three, but they were unable to cope with the Indian bowlers, with Jadeja, Umesh Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin all picking up three wickets apiece.

Glenn Maxwell made a spirited 45 for Australia, but none of his teammates made more than 25 while the final three batsmen all went without troubling the score.

It left India requiring 106 to claim a 2-1 victory in the series and they were successful in batting out the remaining six overs of the day, with Lokesh Rahul (13*) and Murali Vijay (6*) at the crease at stumps.
