India move in on second-Test victory over Sri Lanka

India are on the brink of taking a 2-0 series lead against Sri Lanka after restricting their opponents on a shortened fourth day of the second Test in Jamaica.

India have moved closer to victory over Sri Lanka in their second Test after taking four wickets in quick succession on a shortened fourth day in Jamaica.

The Lions were trailing by 304 runs at the start of their second innings and, having collapsed to 48-4 by the close of play on Tuesday, the signs do not look good.

Only 15.5 overs were bowled at Sabina Park due to the bad weather, but India still had time to take Rajendra Chandrika (1) early on via the bowling of Ishant Sharma.

Sharma's fellow opener Kraigg Brathwaite was the next to be sent packing for 23 runs when skying a short ball to mid-wicket, while Marlon Samuels did little to help his side back into the contest as he was out for a duck.

The last ball before lunch saw Darren Bravo go for 20, meaning an almighty mountain for Sri Lanka to climb if they are to avoid going two down in the series.
