England have defeated India by seven wickets to win the third Test match in Kolkata.

The tourists were given a victory target of 41 runs by India in their second innings which Alastair Cook's men achieved in 12.1 overs for the loss of three wickets.

India resumed day five on 239-9 but were bowled out inside two overs in the morning for 247, Ravichandran Ashwin staying unbeaten on 91 runs.

England started their second innings on a disappointing note and were 8-3 at one point, with Cook, Jonathan Trott and Kevin Pietersen all falling victim to Indian bowling.
