India have clinched the first Test against the West Indies by an innings and 51 runs in Kolkata.

The hosts managed to bowl the Windies out for 168 in their second innings after racking up 453 during their opening stint at the crease.

The lead was largely down to impressive performances from both Rohit Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin, who scored 177 and 124 respectively.

In the tourists' second innings, the highest score came from Darren Bravo, who mustered 37 runs before falling to Ashwin, who took three wickets.

India's Sachin Tendulkar will play his 200th and final Test match against the Windies beginning in Mumbai on Thursday.
