Misbah-ul-Haq: 'Pakistan are struggling to find right balance'

Misbah admits to selection mistakes

Misbah-ul-Haq has claimed that Pakistan got their selection wrong after suffering a 76-run defeat to India in their opening World Cup game.

The Pakistan captain believes that selecting just four frontline bowlers cost his side as Virat Kohli's hundred and half-centuries from Shikhar Dhawan and Suresh Raina helped India post 300-7 in Adelaide, but he has urged his teammates to put the loss behind them as quickly as possible.

"We are not getting the balance right," Misbah, who top-scored for his side with 76, told reporters. "We need a fifth bowler. Sometimes you have to sacrifice an extra batsman.

"We have to concentrate on the games that are coming up. If you dwell on the game that has just happened, it's really difficult."

Pakistan take on the West Indies in their second Pool B fixture in Christchurch beginning at 10pm (UK time) on Friday night.
