Michael Klinger signs new Gloucestershire contract

Michael Klinger agrees a new contract at Gloucestershire for next season.

Gloucestershire captain Michael Klinger has penned a new contract at the club for next season.

The 34-year-old, who is currently recovering after breaking his arm last month, will make his return in 2015 and be available for the majority of the Championship season, as well as both the Twenty20 and 50-over campaigns.

"We started talking about a deal for 2015 as soon as his plane touched down for this season," chief executive Will Brown told BBC Sport.

"We wanted to keep him and he's desperate to stay in Bristol so we found a deal to keep him for four of the six months of the season."

Klinger made a total of 2,173 runs for Gloucestershire in 2013.
