Report: Sacramento Kings consider firing George Karl

Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadive is considering sacking George Karl as the speculation surrounding the future of Demarcus Cousins continues, according to reports.

Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadive will reportedly consider sacking head coach George Karl as speculation surrounding the future of All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins continues to dominate the NBA headlines.

Reports in recent days have suggested that the Los Angeles Lakers are considering putting together a trade package in an attempt to acquire Cousins, who is also believed to be attracting interest from the Boston Celtics.

The Kings have repeatedly denied that they are willing to trade Cousins, but Karl is believed to be keen to offload the 24-year-old and ESPN claims that Ranadive has been left frustrated by his coach's eagerness to part ways with the franchise's key man.

Despite Ranadive's displeasure, the report suggests that the Kings are not yet lining up a replacement and a decision has not been made about Karl's future.

Karl was appointed coach by Ranadive in February.
