Damian Lillard has challenged the Portland Trail Blazers to increase the intensity of their play while they are ahead in games.
The Blazers almost allowed the Los Angeles Lakers to produce an unlikely result from behind on Sunday before Lillard and his team held on to secure their 14th victory of the season.
"We need to stay consistent," Lillard the point guard told reporters.
"When things are going well, we tend to ease up instead of tightening up and putting teams away.
"Once teams get fired up and get back in the game, our intensity rises again. We have to find a way to keep it at that high level."
Portland host the Indiana Pacers on Monday night.
