Pacers defeat Heat in ECF opener

The Indiana Pacers have taken a 1-0 lead over the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference playoff finals courtesy of a 107-96 victory at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Sunday.

The defeat is the third time in a row that the Heat have lost on the road in the opening game of a playoff series, but each time they have bounced back to progress by winning their next four games.

Paul George led the way for the Pacers as he scored 24 points to lead six players in double figures, including David West and Roy Hibbert, who scored 19 apiece.

Indiana's dominance on the night was shown by a stronger 51.5% on shooting, while they also notched stats of 29-37 from the free-throw line.

The Heat will be looking to bounce back once game two gets underway on Tuesday.
