Report: Danny Granger unlikely to feature in season opener

Report: Granger out for opener

Indiana Pacers star Danny Granger is unlikely to play in his team's season opener against the Orlando Magic on Tuesday night.

Head coach Frank Vogel revealed that the strained calf Granger suffered last week is worse than previously thought and he doubts the former All-Star small forward will play, according to Pro Basketball Talk.

Meanwhile, the 30-year-old has insisted that his condition is day-to-day but it is unclear as to how close he is to a full recovery from the injury.

Granger, who is in the last year of his contract this season, missed out on a significant part of last season due to injury.
