NBA roundup: Wins for Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs

Sports Mole rounds up the action from Saturday's games in the NBA.

The Golden State Warriors needed a strong finish to maintain their unbeaten start to the 2015-16 NBA season, having to come from behind inside the final six minutes to beat the Sacramento Kings.

The reigning champions led at the start of the final period, but the hosts started to close the gap, with Rajon Rondo handing Sacramento the lead midway the quarter.

Stephen Curry quickly restored the Warriors' lead though, while Harrison Barnes and Klay Thompson were also among the points late on to ensure that the visiting side saw out the win.

The Houston Rockets secured their fourth win in a row with a narrow victory over the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center.

James Harden scored more than 40 points for a second straight game, finishing with 46 points, leaving the Rockets eight points up early in the fourth quarter.

Blake Griffin and JJ Redick cut the lead in half as the Clippers tried to get back into the game, but Harden and Dwight Howard found the basket in the final moments.

The Minnesota Timberwolves needed overtime to clinch a win over the Chicago Bulls, shutting out the home side in the additional spell to secure their third win of the season.

The sides were close throughout, with Andrew Wiggins leading the scoring for the visitors, while Pau Gasol finished with 21 for Chicago, adding the points to tie the scores in regulation.

Tayshaun Prince and Nemanja Bjelica were both among the points in overtime for Minnesota, while the Bulls failed to score in overtime for the first time in the team's history.

The Atlanta Hawks dominated the fourth quarter to secure a win over the Washington Wizards, giving the home side a seventh straight win.

Kent Bazemore added a career-high 25, 16 of which came in the second half, inspiring the hosts to come from behind in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Wizards 39-21 in the final 12 minutes.

The San Antonio Spurs cruised to a comfortable win over the Charlotte Hornets, leaving them unbeaten at home so far this season.

The sides were closely matched in the first half, but Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge helped the hosts open up a big lead in the third quarter to take their fourth win in six games.

The New Orleans Pelicans' difficult start to the season continued as they were beaten by a dominant second-half performance from the Dallas Mavericks.

It looked like the Pelicans were heading towards their first win of the campaign after opening up a six-point lead at half time, but late efforts from Deron Williams and Dirk Nowitzki ensured that the Mavericks took their first home win this season.

The Utah Jazz have made their best start to an NBA season in seven years as they clinched a fourth win in six outings with a hard-fought victory over the Memphis Grizzlies.

Trey Burke led the scoring for the home side, who dominated either side of half time to open up a gap, before Mike Conley and Marc Gasol made it close late on, but four free throws inside the final minute from Alec Burks made sure of the win for Utah.

The Brooklyn Nets are still looking for their first win of the season after throwing away an early lead in their game against the Milwaukee Bucks at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

Brook Lopez got the visitors off to a bright start, but had to leave the game in the second half with a sore foot, allowing Greg Monroe to lead the Bucks to victory, finishing with 20 points and eight rebounds.

The Philadelphia 76ers slipped to a sixth straight defeat at the start of the new season as the Orlando Magic wrapped up a comfortable victory at the Wells Fargo Center.

The visitors pulled ahead early on as Elfrid Payton and Victor Oladipo leading the Magic to an eight-point lead by the end of the first quarter, which Philadelphia never threatened to overturn.
