Dirk Nowitzki: 'Dallas Mavericks are not a playoff team'

Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki does not think that the team are good enough to make the playoffs this season.

Dirk Nowitzki has said that he does not think the Dallas Mavericks are good enough to make the NBA playoffs this season.

The team have lost four of their last 10 games and sit third in the Southwest Division.

The forward told ESPN: "The way we let those games slip away, I don't think we're a playoff team.

"We've got to win those games. We've got to find a way to get those stops and protect the home court."

The Mavericks host the New York Knicks later today.
