Derrick Rose: Ankle sprain is "minor"

Rose: Ankle sprain is "minor"

Derrick Rose has said that he hopes not to miss any game time with the Chicago Bulls after picking up a "minor" ankle sprain.

The point guard missed the second half of the team's overtime defeat to the Cleveland Cavaliers last night after injuring his left ankle.

The 26-year-old told reporters: "Don't worry, it's just an ankle sprain. I guess it's part of the process. Of course the gods are testing me right now, but it's fine. I think I'll be able to get through it.

"It's basketball. It ain't like I tore something, or tore a ligament or something. It's just that I sprained my ankle and I had to sit out. It's minor, and I'll try to give it a go [Saturday].

"Right now I'm feeling good. Of course, my ankle is throbbing a little bit right now but it comes with just playing basketball, and I'm just happy it's not that serious."

Rose missed most of last season with a torn meniscus, and sat out the campaign before while recovering from an ACL tear.
