Deron Williams to miss game in London

The Brooklyn Nets have confirmed that Deron Williams will miss the game against Atlanta Hawks, which takes place this Thursday in London.

Point guard Williams has been struggling with ankle problems for long spells of the season and a recent sprain has ruled him out of the trip.

The Nets confirmed that the 29-year-old was given a cortisone shot and platelet-rich plasma injection in an attempt to speed up his recovery.

Williams joins his teammate Brook Lopez and Atlanta's Al Horford on the list of players missing the visit to the English capital.

Brooklyn will train in London on Tuesday and Wednesday ahead of the contest at the O2 Arena.
