Deron Williams still resting ankle

Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams is still resting his ankle and will miss the next three pre-season games.

Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Willims is still being forced to rest his ankle and will miss the next three pre-season games.

The Nets open the regular season against the Cleveland Cavaliers on October 30, with Williams insisting that the goal is to be ready for the first game.

"[My ankle's] getting better everyday," Williams said, according to ESPN. "We're taking it slow, but with the goal of being ready for Game 1."

The 29-year-old suffered the sprain earlier this month, and head coach Jason Kidd has placed no timeline on his recovery.
