England's Sarah Walker eyeing improvement despite win

England badminton player Sarah Walker knows that she has to improve at the Commonwealth Games despite her round-of-32 win over Barbados's Shari Watson.

England badminton player Sarah Walker is hopeful that she can improve as the Commonwealth Games progresses, following her round-of-32 win over Shari Watson.

The 24-year-old defeated Watson in straight sets to book her place in the round of 16 at the Emirates Arena.

She told reporters: "It was nice to have a run around after a day off yesterday and get back into it. I am hoping to keep on with the solid performances and build on from the team event.

"It was nice to relax after such a big day, so we had a rest day and let our medals sink in and then back to work.

"I've got a tougher match tomorrow against Liz Cann, we always have battles, so I will see if I can build on my performance again."

Walker will play Jersey's Liz Cann in the round of 16 on Thursday.
