Amantle Montsho claims first Botswana gold in World Championships

Amantle Montsho has become the first ever athlete to win a gold for Botswana at the World Championships after winning the women's 400m final in Daegu.

The 28-year-old opened up a lead on the final bend and despite being closed down by Allyson Felix, she managed to hold of the challenge from the American and record a time of 49.56 seconds.

Russian Anastasiya Kapachinskaya trailed Felix in third position with a time of 50.24.

Montsho's time was also a Botswanan national record.
