The Olympic champion started strongly by winning the 100m and long jump, but he faced competition from Damian Warner as the Canadian won the high jump with a season-best 2.04m.

In the final event of the day, Eaton extended his lead to 4,703 points after comfortably winning the 400m race in 45 seconds.

Eaton currently leads by 173 points over Warner with five events left to go.
