South Africa allowed to compete in 4x400m relay final

South Africa reinstated to 4x400m final

South Africa have been given permission to compete in the 4x400m relay final after they failed to initially make the cut.

The team were unable to get the baton all the way around in the second relay heat after Ofentse Mogawane crashed out.

South Africa appealed their exit from the event stating that Mogawane had been blocked, which the International Association of Athletics Federations swiftly passed and allowed the team back into the final.

Meanwhile, Great Britain's quartet qualified for the final after finishing the lap in 3:00.38.
