Poland's Karolina Tyminska wins opening heat in heptathlon 100m hurdles

Poland's Karolina Tyminska has set the quickest pace in the first heat of the 100m hurdles in the women's heptathlon at the Olympic Park in Stratford.

The 27-year-old launched into the lead after a false start, which in this case does not mean disqualification for the runners, and grabbed over 1,000 points after setting a time of 13.22s.

Yani Maksimava of Belarus recorded a 13.97s record in second place, while Austra Skujyte of Lithuania finished in third with a time of 14.00s, which earned her 978 points.

There are four heats left to go in the 100m hurdles, with Great Britain's Jessica Ennis due in heat five and Louise Hazel in heat three.
