Weir through to 200m semi-finals

Jamaican sprinter Warren Weir moved into the semi-finals of the men's 200m this afternoon with victory in his heat.

The 22-year-old got off to a reserved start, before he attacked the bend quickly and hit the front of the field heading on to the home straight.

He eventually crossed the line in a time of 20.29s and has joined compatriots Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake in the next round at the London Olympics.

Antoine Adams finished in second place, with Kamil Krynski rounding off the top three.
