Daley Thompson expects Jamaican duo Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake to dominate the 100m at the Olympics.

Former Olympic champion Daley Thompson has claimed that the 100m competitors will be vying for bronze behind Yohan Blake and Usain Bolt.

Defending champion Bolt goes into the Games as favourite to retain his title but many believe that world champion, Blake, could prove to be a big threat to the world record holder.

Blake has already beaten Bolt this year and Thompson expects the Jamaican duo to dominate the event in the Olympic Stadium.

The former British decathlete told the Daily Mail: "Like Bolt, Blake seems a nice, laidback guy, but he comes across as really determined — you can see that coming through however quietly he speaks. He wants to show that he is the greatest runner on the planet.

"I don't see anyone other than Bolt and Blake contending for gold. The American guys, Tyson Gay and Justin Gatlin, are fighting for bronze. Certainly, they will have to step up a level to threaten the two Jamaicans."

Bolt has recently declared himself ready for the Olympics after questions were asked regarding his fitness.
