Aleen Bailey tips Usain Bolt for 100m

Aleen Bailey tips Usain Bolt to defend his Olympic 100m title.

Jamaican female sprinter Aleen Bailey has tipped Usain Bolt to defend his Olympic 100m title.

The debate over who will win the men's final has raged in recent months, with two Jamaicans at the heart of it.

Yohan Blake has emerged as a serious contender after the world champion beat Bolt in both the 100m and 200m at the Jamaican trials.

Bailey, who missed out on the Olympic team, thinks that Bolt will be the man to beat though.

"Both Usain and Yohan are amazing individuals and if they show up in their top form, the Olympic organisers may have to hand out two gold medals," she said.

"I would give Usain the edge though."

The veteran went on to express her disappointment at missing out, and echoed Jamaican captain Michael Frater's sentiments that athletes should "relax" during the games.

"Don't take it too seriously," she continued. "Remember when you just started running and it was just having fun."

Bailey equalled her career best 11.04s in the semi-finals at the national trials but was overlooked for the final team. She also competes in the 200m.
