Smyth sets new world record T13 100m final

Ireland's Jason Smyth has beaten his own world record to win gold in the men's T13 100m final.

Smyth set a new world record of 10.54 in the heats but ran 10.46 in the final to win the top prize.

Smyth flew out of the blocks and was well ahead of the rest of the field, but the next two medals were separated by just 0.01s.

Luis Felipe Gutierrez of Cuba just edged ahead of the rest with 11.02, while Jonathan Ntutu took bronze with 11.03, the same time given to Russia's Alexey Labzin.
