Archers win Italy's first gold, Georgia claim first medal at European Games

Italy won their first gold medal of the European Games after victory in the archery mixed teams event this afternoon.

Natalia Valeeva and Mauro Nespoli won their final 5-3 against a Georgia side who were chasing their first medal in Baku.

Lasha Pkhakadze and Khatuna Narimanidze had to settle for silver in the end, despite taking a 2-0 lead against the Italian duo.

In the bronze-medal match, Ukraine ran out 5-1 victors over Slovenia.
