Great Britain archer Kieran Slater looking to upset more rivals

British archer Kieran Slater admits that he would "love" to carry on upsetting opponents at the European Games in Baku.

British archer Kieran Slater has spoken of his delight at beating 11th seed Yagiz Yilmaz and intends to carry on upsetting in order to reach the medals podium.

World number 119 Slater beat Turkish Yilmaz in straight sets 6-0 to set up a meet with Frenchman Pierre Plihon, ranked 13th in the world.

"It was quite exhilarating going out there," he said. "But it was rather hot, more than I'm used to. I've been quite pleased with how I've shot in the head-to-heads. The ranking round is very close nowadays so it really is becoming anyone's game.

"That would be fantastic [if I reached a medal position]. I'm just taking each round as it comes, but I'd love that."

Slater has now been given a tournament seed of 43 after the elimination rounds and will face Plihon later on Monday.
