New Orleans Saints place Jabari Greer on season-ending injured reserve

The New Orleans Saints have announced that they have placed cornerback Jabari Greer on their injured reserve list.

Greer went down with a leg injury in the first quarter of his side's win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday and was forced to leave the field.

Tests confirmed that the 31-year-old tore his ACL and as a result the team have chosen to place him on IR, which ends his season.

Head coach Sean Payton told the club's official website: "Tough for our team, tough for him."

Greer had played in all 10 of his side's matches this campaign and had one interception and made 33 tackles.
