Agent: Gronkowski back surgery "not serious"

The agent of New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has revealed that he doesn't believe the 24-year-old's scheduled back surgery is "serious".

Gronkowski is currently recovering from surgery on his forearm, which took place last month, following an infection from a previous operation when he sustained a broken arm in January against the Houston Texans.

However, it has since been discovered that the Patriots man needs a further surgery on his back, which could rule him out his side's training camp, which is due to start in late July.

"The recovery will be very comparable to the amount of time he'll miss with the arm surgery," Gronkowski's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told WQAM-AM.

"It's not a serious back surgery. This is a new injury, and it's minor, it's not as significant. I don't think it's a big deal, I think it's more preventative maintenance than anything else."

Last season, Gronkowski scored 11 touchdowns in just 11 games for the Pats.
