Adrian Peterson slams match officials

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson criticises the match officials for their performance in his side's 29-26 defeat to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has criticised the performance of the match officials during yesterday's game against the Baltimore Ravens.

The Vikings were flagged for six penalties during the match, including one for pass interference that ruled out an interception on what proved to be the Ravens' game-winning drive.

Peterson was particularly unhappy with a first-quarter fumble given against Toby Gerhart, but insisted that his ill-feeling did not extend to the Ravens players.

"Some of the calls that were made, you just went, 'Wow. I can't believe that was called'. [Gerhart's fumble] is just one of them, one out of many [bad calls]," ESPN quotes Peterson as saying.

"I wish [the Ravens] the best of luck the rest of the season. The Baltimore Ravens don't make the calls. It's a tough one to swallow."

Peterson, who was forced to leave the game early with a foot injury, also slammed the Ravens fans for their behaviour during an incredible fourth quarter that saw Baltimore eventually triumph 29-26.
