Jacksonville Jaguars sign center Stefen Wisniewski

The Jacksonville Jaguars announce that they have signed center Stefen Wisniewski on a one-year deal after he was allowed to leave the Oakland Raiders.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have confirmed that they have signed free agent offensive lineman Stefen Wisniewski.

The 26-year-old was selected in the second round of the 2011 Draft by the Oakland Raiders, and was a regular starter for the AFC West side in his four years at the club.

However, he failed to agree a new deal with the Raiders and was allowed to hit the free-agent market, where, after several visits, Wisniewski has agreed a one-year deal worth $2.5m (£1.67m) with the Jaguars.

"We had the opportunity to spend time with Stefen earlier this month and remained in contact with him with the hopes of getting a deal done," general manager David Caldwell told the club's official websitee. "We are excited to get him on board before we officially start our offseason conditioning program next week.

"He gives us great position flexibility along our offensive line as he has started at both center and guard during his career. He has a familiarity with our offensive system and brings a lot of experience to our offensive line room."

The center has made 61 appearances in the NFL since the 2011 campaign.
