Report: Houston Texans cut three players

The Houston Texans release three players from their roster for violating team rules in their hotel, according to a report.

The Houston Texans have reportedly cut three players for violating team rules in their hotel following their defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Defensive end Sam Montgomery, linebacker Willie Jefferson and running back Cierre Wood have all been released by the club after being sent home on Sunday morning before the game, reports the Houston Chronicle.

Montgomery is the highest profile player to be cut as he was drafted in the third round of the 2013 Draft by the Texans but failed to earn a spot in their defensive line during training camp.

The Texans are 2-5 in their season following their loss to the Chiefs.
