Houston Texans' David Quessenberry eyeing NFL return

Houston Texans defensive end David Quessenberry reveals his ambition to return to the NFL after it was confirmed that his cancer was in remission.

Houston Texans defensive end David Quessenberry has said that he is determined to return to the NFL after it was announced he was in remission in his battle against cancer.

The 24-year-old was diagnosed with lymphoma last year, but overcame the illness and is now in a 30-month maintenance programme.

Quessenberry is working out with the Texans and also attends meetings at the team's facility, but he has not been cleared to return to physical action yet.

"I will be back out there," he told the club's official website. "That will be a special day. I've been through a lot. That's something that's been a vision of mine throughout this whole process."

Quessenberry has not made an appearance for the Texans since being drafted in 2013.
