Tony Romo confident over Dez Bryant contract with Dallas Cowboys

Tony Romo confident over Dez Bryant contract

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has revealed that he is confident Dez Bryant will sign a long-term contract with the club.

The 26-year-old and the NFC East side failed to come to a long-term agreement on a deal before free agency, leading the team to designate him with the franchise tag.

Dallas executive vice-president Stephen Jones conceded that there was a divide between the club and Bryant over a new deal, but Romo is optimistic that will change in the near future.

Romo told reporters: "The NFL is a business, it really is. You'll see that side sometimes, with DeMarco [Murray] leaving and Dez not being part of the off-season.

"I think it will work out with Dez."

Bryant recorded 88 receptions for 1,320 yards along with 16 touchdowns for the Cowboys last season.
