Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones: 'We have to win Super Bowl for Tony Romo'

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones concedes that he would be very disappointed if the club failed to win the Super Bowl with Tony Romo as their starting quarterback.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has revealed that he would be extremely disappointed if the club failed to win a Super Bowl with Tony Romo as their quarterback.

The Cowboys reached the playoffs in the last campaign for the first time in four seasons, and managed to defeat the Detroit Lions before being eliminated at the hands of the Green Bay Packers.

Jones believes that his side have to find a way to push on to reach the Super Bowl and ensure that the 35-year-old wins the Vince Lombardi trophy before the end of his career.

Jones told 105.3 The Fan: "Tony is really good. I've said this and I want to restate it, if he should go through a career with the Cowboys and not have knocked on the door one time, I'm going to go as far as to say won a Super Bowl, it would be my biggest disappointment having owned this team.

"He is a quarterback that can win Super Bowls. He's a franchise quarterback. I really would not, for what we got ahead of us, he's who I want as opposed to a choice throughout the league."

The Cowboys face the Philadelphia Eagles in week two of the season.
