Jerry Jones: 'We have a five-year window with Tony Romo'

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones feels that the club have at least another five years with Tony Romo operating as their starting quarterback.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has revealed that the club are operating in a five-year window with quarterback Tony Romo.

The 34-year-old had arguably the best campaign of his career in 2014 as he overcame off-season back surgery to lead the club into the playoffs for the first time since 2009.

Jones is confident that his side can continue to compete for the Super Bowl with Romo as their quarterback for the next five years.

He told reporters: "I feel very comfortable with a five-year time frame. I feel very comfortable with that.

"When I say comfortable, I'm ready to make decisions based on him being our quarterback that far into the future.

"I'm not going to look into the crystal ball with you and tell you he's not going to have down days over the next five years - I can't do that. But I can tell you I'm comfortable, and I'm going to make decisions based on him being here."

Romo threw for 3,705 yards along with 34 touchdowns to nine interceptions in the 2014 season.
